Hammond Carjacking Suspects Caught By Task Force

On May 21st, at approximately 5:35 p.m., the Hammond Police Department was dispatched to the 5700 of Hohman Ave. in reference to a carjacking, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police.

The victim stated two Black males approached his vehicle on the passenger side and one suspect pulled a gun on him ordering him out of the car. The victim complied and the second suspect entered his car and they drove off, Kellogg stated.

A description was given out and a short time later, Lake County Sheriff’s units located the vehicle and began a pursuit. The vehicle fled into Calumet City and crashed. Two juvenile suspects were taken into custody. No one was injured during the crime or arrest. Charges are pending.
