Hammond Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Fire At First Baptist Church Building
Firefighters responded to the 500 block of State St in Hammond around 9pm Friday night for a reported Structure Fire. On arrival crews found a small fire near a boarded up window in the old Seiffer Building which was last believed to be used as a Sunday School building for the First Baptist Church but now is just storage for them. Fire investigators are working on the determining the cause. There was no reported injuries and the building was handed over to Church Security after the incident.
