Hammond House Fire Displaces Family

Thursday night around 11:30pm Hammond Fire Department responded to the 1500 block of Amy Avenue for a structure fire. On arrival fire crews found flames coming from the back porch, according to Hammond Fire Chief Jeff Smith. Crews made entry through the front door and found fire in multiple places in the home. Hammond Fire was on scene for a couple hours before the fire was struck, Smith told RNS. The family was displaced and will be for quite some time due to the heavy fire damage in the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

RNS was told there will be a go fund me setup for the children in the home who lost everything. When that link is made available we will share in the comments.
