
Hammond Man Arrested and Charged Following Drug Activity Complaints
Hammond- Court documents show 69-year-old Danny Lee Pool, a Hammond man, has been charged after a search warrant at his home led to the seizure of cocaine and a stolen firearm earlier this month.
According to court documents, Hammond Police conducted surveillance at a home in the 7500 block of McCook Avenue in reference to numerous complaints of drug dealing activity. Investigators observed an individual leaving the residence who was later arrested on two active warrants and found with cocaine.
Police obtained a search warrant for the residence, which was executed on October 2, 2025. Inside, officers found containers of white rock-like substance weighing a total of 2.5 grams, a digital scale, and a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber handgun. The firearm had been reported stolen on September 11, 2025 from the 6500 block of Kennedy Avenue; a report states it had been left in a restroom and later was discovered missing.
Pool admitted to officers he knew about the cocaine and said he would purchase it and provide it to others in exchange for sexual favors. He also admitted to finding the firearm in a restroom, placing it under the sink, and later taking it home.

• Dealing in Cocaine; Possession with Intent (Between 1–5g, Enhancing Circumstances) — Level 3 Felony
• Dealing in Cocaine; Possession with Intent (Between 1–5g) — Level 4 Felony
• Dealing in Cocaine — Level 5 Felony
• Theft of a Firearm — Level 5 Felony
• Possession of Cocaine (<5g, Enhancing Circumstances) — Level 5 Felony
• Possession of Cocaine (<5g) — Level 6 Felony
• Maintaining a Common Nuisance — Level 6 Felony
Pool was lodged in the Lake County Jail on October 10, 2025.
