Hammond Police Conducting Death Investigation
Shortly after 6PM Tuesday, Hammond Police & Fire responded to a gunshot victim on the 6900 block of Hohman in an apartment building off of Lawndale.
The victim who was shot in his leg and succumbed to his injuries has been identified by The Lake County Coroner as Clifford Holmes, 50, of Chicago. The manner of death is still pending according to the release.
Hammond Police did confirm they were conducting a investigation involving a shooting victim but no other information was available at this time. It’s still unclear how the victim was shot or the circumstances involved. RNS did see multiple people being escorted from the scene in handcuffs.
