Hammond Police Investigating Homicide Outside Liquor Store
The Hammond Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred outside of Nick’s Liquors, located at 4607 Calumet Avenue, at approximately 8:30 PM, Thursday evening.
This was the result of an altercation that took place inside of the business, Hammond Police said. Two male subjects were shot during the incident. One victim sustained gunshot wounds to the chin and shoulder and listed in stable condition. That victim was a bystander and not involved. The second victim, who was shot in the chest and hand, has been pronounced deceased. The Lake County Coroner has not released their identity.
