Hammond Police Respond To Multiple Shots Fired Calls Overnight
On Friday, September 25, Hammond Police responded to at least 6 separate calls of shots fired. The first initial calls were on the 7700 block of Delmar around 9pm where police found multiple shell casings in the roadway. Police later returned to the area for more shots around 10:15pm and again later in the morning learning of some fence damage. One subject was taken into custody from this incident according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of the Hammond Police.
Around 10:40pm police received multiple calls of shots fired in the Hessville area which was later found to have been on the 6700 block of Schneider. Multiple rounds flew through a window of a home but no injuries were reported. Police also found a hit and run occurred on the street that may be related to this incident.
Around 3am police received another call of shots fired on the 4900 block of Catalpa where another house had damage but no injuries.
Three other incidents of shots fired RNS learned about resulted in no damage found in the Hessville area overnight.
