Hammond Shooting Now Homicide Police Seek Info

On August 29th, at approximately 9:35 p.m., Hammond police heard shots fired in the 1100 block of Moss St. Officers responded and located a large crowd of people and bullet casings in the area, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police. No victims were present but several vehicles were observed fleeing the area.

Approximately 10 minutes later, 35-year-old Robert Herron from Hammond arrived at St. Margaret’s Hospital with a gun shot wound to the chest, Kellogg stated. Mr. Herron was transported to Christ Hospital in Chicago where he later died from his injuries.
