Hammond SWAT Called After Juveniles Reported A Robbery
On Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at approximately 8:25 PM, Hammond Police responded to a location in reference to two juveniles who stated they were robbed at gunpoint, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg. The juveniles were not harmed during this incident.
The police investigation led to the area of the 6700 block of Nebraska where police had also received a call about shots fired, Kellogg told RNS. Police gained a search warrant for the home where the suspects were last seen. Due to the nature of the call, detectives, Hammond SWAT and negotiators served the search warrant on the home.
Inside the home, detectives located evidence from the crime along with several firearms. One subject was arrested, and charges are pending Thursday afternoon.
