
Hebron Woman Charged After Biting Jail Officer During Porter County Jail Incident
Valparaiso- A Hebron woman is facing a felony charge after authorities say she bit and injured a correctional officer during a disturbance inside the Porter County Jail.
The incident occurred around 10:46 a.m. on October 5, 2025, at the Porter County Jail in Valparaiso, according to court documents.
Correctional staff were attempting to secure Michelle Knutsen Seegers, 49, back into her cell when she became non-compliant. Staff members tried to restrain her, but Seegers allegedly grabbed and bit a jail officer on the arm.
The court document states that Seegers was taken to the ground and restrained after the altercation. The officer sustained a bite wound to the arm, scratches to the hand and ear, and a patch of hair pulled from the head, resulting in pain and bleeding .
Seegers has been lodged in the Porter County Jail since September 18, 2025, for other pending charges.
