
Hebron Woman Charged After High-Speed Pursuit With Child In Vehicle
Hebron- A 22-year-old Hebron woman is facing multiple charges after police say she led them on a high-speed pursuit with her 2-year-old child in the vehicle, nearly striking law enforcement officers with her car.
According to court documents, the incident began shortly after midnight on September 28, 2025, when officers observed a blue Hyundai Venue speeding around 80 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone near Boardwalk in Hebron. Police reported the vehicle was weaving across lanes, disregarding traffic control devices, crossing the center line, and driving erratically.
Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver, identified as Emily Maya Gray, 22, refused to pull over and fled at high speed. During the pursuit, Gray allegedly tried to strike a law enforcement vehicle while continuing to drive left of center. Police later confirmed that Gray’s 2-year-old son was inside the vehicle at the time, which they said placed him in a dangerous situation .
Gray was eventually stopped and taken into custody. Officers say she was identified through her driver’s license, computer check, and admission.
Charges filed September 29,2025:
• Neglect of a Dependent (Level 6 felony) — for placing her child in a situation that endangered his life or health
• Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 felony) — for fleeing in a vehicle after officers ordered her to stop
• Reckless Driving (Class C misdemeanor) — for operating at excessive speed and endangering others
• Speeding (Infraction)
• Driving Left of Center (Infraction)
• Failure to Signal Turn (Infraction)
• Obstructing Traffic (Infraction)
Currently lodged in the Porter County Jail.
