
Highland Police Catch Shooting Suspect After Chase Into Lansing
On Thursday September 18, 2025, at approximately 11:34 AM, Highland Police
were advised by Central Dispatch that a female had driven herself to the front parking lot of the Highland Police Department. She advised dispatch that she had been shot several times, according to Highland Police.
Upon officers checking on her in her vehicle, it was confirmed that she had suffered several gunshot wounds. Officers called for an ambulance and immediately began providing first aid care to the victim. She advised she had been shot by her husband while she was in her vehicle parked in
the garage of their residence in the 3700 block of Sandalwood Drive in Highland.
Officers were then given the suspect’s name and told that the suspect was driving a red Jeep. Officers located the Jeep in the area of Grace and Ridge and began a pursuit with the vehicle. The vehicle entered 80-94 westbound from northbound Cline Avenue. The pursuit ultimately exited onto Torrence Avenue from 80-94 and the Jeep then crashed into another vehicle on Torrence Avenue in Lansing, Illinois.
The suspect (65 year old male from Highland) was then taken into custody and was transported to a Chicago area trauma center for his injuries from the crash via an ambulance.
The victim (47 year old female from Highland) was also transported to a Chicago area trauma center for her injuries via an ambulance.
This case is an ongoing investigation by Highland Detectives. There is no further threat to the community.
