Highland Police Investigating Sunday Shooting
Around 10:30 AM, Sunday, multiple calls for shots fired were received in the 9600 block of Forrest in Highland.
Around the same time a gun shot victim drove to the Urgent Care next to Stracks on Cline & 45th. The victims vehicle was located in the First Merchants Bank parking lot with numerous bullet holes, broken windows, and flat tires.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for immediate surgery.
A crime scene is setup in the 9600 block of Forrest where numerous bullet holes are in an apartment building across the street from the believed shooting location and a few cars in the immediate area including a car at the Sav A Stop gas station located on 45th. The bullet that hit the apartment just missed innocent children inside, according to the resident.
Highland Police have not released a statement on this incident and the investigation is still very active as of noon Sunday.
