Hobart Man Killed In Black Oak Shooting

Gary Police are investigating the death of a 24-year-old Hobart man following an altercation in the 2800 block of King Street Gary’s Black Oak section, according to Gary Police.

A witness told police on October 15, at approximately 11:56 PM, a known group of people came to the residence on King Street attempting to steal items and gain entry to the home. The witness said that the group had been approaching the home for several days and that the residents of the home would make them leave.

The victim and another at the residence confronted the group and an altercation ensued. After they fought the subjects entered a blue Chevy Impala they arrived in and fled the area. The victim was found lying in an empty lot by the witness who called the police and an ambulance.
