Hobart SWAT Call Out Ends Peacefully
On Saturday, April 23, 2022, at approximately 4:09PM, Hobart Police were dispatched to the 0 block of North Wilson Street after female called 911 reporting she came home and her estranged husband was inside her residence with a handgun, according to Hobart Police Captain James Gonzales.
Officers arrived and were able to assist the female and several small children out of the house to safety; however, the male had barricaded himself inside the home.
Northwest Regional SWAT arrived on scene and the male, a 34 year old Hobart man, was eventually taken into custody after surrendering at approximately 6:32 PM.
Charges will be forwarded to the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office after Hobart detectives complete their investigation, Gonzales told RNS.
