Illinois Man Charged With Child Molesting
A Round Lake, Illinois man was arrested two weeks ago after allegedly coming to
Porter County to have intercourse with a minor, according to police reports.
A female middle school student from Portage reportedly alerted a school counselor and her mother that she had sex with an adult male in September of 2023 after meeting the male on the Snapchat app.
The female stated she started talking to the male in July of 2023 via the phone app. Over the course of 3 months the adult male sent hundreds of explicit pictures and videos including some of himself via Snapchat. During this period the male also made several attempts to meet the girl in person. The male spoke of places they could have intercourse while reminding her that he was 25. In September of 2023 the two met in person in Portage and had sexual contact.
A subpoena for phone records and data was approved and confirmed the reported story to police. A short time later charges were approved through the Porter County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for the arrest of Alejandro Tellez, 25, of Round Lake, Illinois. Tellez was arrested on January 6, 2023 at his home in Round Lake. He was extradited back to Indiana where he later was able to post bond.
