Illinois State Police Seeking Info On Fatal Hit & Run
Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officials request information from the public regarding the fatal hit and run crash of Deja O. Bowdry, 19-year-old female of Chicago, IL.
On July 5, 2020, at approximately 4:47 a.m., ISP District Chicago Troopers responded to the scene of a female victim struck by a motor vehicle on Interstate 94 southbound local lanes at Garfield Boulevard. The female victim, identified as Deja O. Bowdry, 19-year-old female of Chicago, IL, was an occupant in a vehicle that was experiencing mechanical issues. The driver of the vehicle pulled over to the left shoulder and partially in the left lane. After Bowdry exited the vehicle, she was struck by a passing vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as a SUV by witnesses and may have sustained front-end damage. After striking Bowdry, the vehicle continued driving and fled southbound on Interstate 94.
