Illinois State Police Surround Burr Exit Overnight After Pursuit
Illinois State Police from District Chicago located a black Acura wanted for aggravated vehicular hijacking around 12:47 AM near I-94 southbound & the Stoney Island exit. State Police initiated a traffic stop however the Acura did not stop, and a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit continued onto Interstate 80 eastbound into Indiana where the Acura subsequently crashed near the Burr St exit. Six juvenile suspects fled on foot. The Illinois State Police, Indiana State Police and Lake County Sheriff’s Department (Indiana) quickly set up a perimeter. All six juvenile suspects were apprehended a short time later.
