Suspect in Custody After Juveniles Car Shot In St John
UPDATE – Suspect in custody around 9:30PM Saturday night in St. John.
Shortly after midnight on 10/31/2020 St. John Police responded to the intersection of W 101st & Calumet Ave for a juvenile female saying someone shot her vehicle numerous times as she faced the intersection, according to St. John Police Chief Steve Flores.
The female described the offender as a possible male, wearing dark pants, a dark hoodie or jacket, riding a bicycle Eastbound on W 101st through the intersection. When the suspect was parallel with the victims car he opened fire. St. John Police recovered 10 spent shell casings of .22 caliber and confirmed the vehicle was struck 5 times on the drivers side.
When police canvassed the area they learned a male entered a gas station West of the crime scene at 11:26PM. The male made a small cash purchase and departed on his bicycle East, Flores said. The pictures above are from the gas station. At this time Police believe this to be random. On Saturday shortly after this article was posted, the pictured subject was taken into custody around 9:30PM in St. John according Flores.
