Lake County Sheriff K9 Escapes Handler Tuesday Night
UPDATE – Dax has been captured on the 400 block of Summit around 10:30 Wednesday.
Shortly after 11pm Tuesday Lake County Sheriff K9 “Dax” escaped his handler for the second this time week. Helicopters, ATV’s, & Multiple Departments searched the area of Oak Knoll Golf Course and Court St in Crown Point late Tuesday.
Around 2AM Wednesday officials called off the search and will resume again in the morning. It’s unclear at this time how Dax escaped Officer Angelika Ventrice again. The K9 who is brand new just arrived after training last week from Canada from Baden K9 with two other dogs. Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr was not immediately available for comment.
If you see Dax you should immediately contact 911 and do not approach.
