Lake Station Gas Robbery Ends With Suspect Arrest
At approximately 9:00 pm on Thursday January 23, 2020 Lake Station Police Department was dispatched to Rich’s Gas Station located at 4301 Central Ave Lake Station, IN for a reported robbery, according to Lake Station Police Chief James Richardson. Officers responded to the area within minutes of the call being dispatched from Lake Station, Hobart, and New Chicago.
Officers set up a perimeter and a Lake Station K-9 unit performed a track which led officers to a residence in the 2600 block of Vermillion St. An investigation was conducted by our Detective Bureau which subsequently led to a suspect being taken into custody at approximately 3:30 am on January 24, 2020, Richardson told Region News. Once charges are filed we will update with arrest information.
Richardson states, “The patrol division did a great job with their quick response and great investigative work by our detective bureau. Truly a great team effort by all!”
