Lake Station Man Arrested Following Child Molesting Investigation
A 43-year-old Lake Station man has been arrested following a lengthy investigation into allegations of child molesting.
According to court documents, Miguel Montalvo Sanchez was charged in Lake County on July 23, 2025, after a juvenile disclosed multiple incidents of abuse that reportedly took place between July 2024 and January 2025 at Sanchez’s home on Lawrence Street.
Investigators obtained digital evidence supporting the allegations, including internet search history and social media messages. A forensic interview was conducted with the child, and a warrant was subsequently issued for Sanchez’s arrest.
Statement from the Lake Station Police Department:
“After a lengthy investigation, a warrant was issued today for the arrest of Miguel Montalvo Sanchez, of Lake Station, IN, on the following charges. Within an hour or so of the warrant being issued, our 2024 Detective of the Year (Det. Cameron Price) went with Det. Sgt. Luke Shaw, located the wanted subject, and took him into custody without incident.”
Sanchez was lodged in the Lake County Jail on July 24, 2025.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
