Lake Station Police Arrest Hobart Man In Overnight Stabbing

On March 22, 2021, at approximately 1:52 AM, Lake Station Officers were dispatched to disturbance call on the 2600 block of Lake Street, in Lake Station, according to Chief James Richardson.

While officers were traveling to the call, they were advised that the disturbance was now being reported as a stabbing.  Upon arrival officers were informed that an altercation took place at a residence on Lake Street that spilled outside of the home and at one point the victim was chased down by the suspect where he was assaulted and stabbed, Richardson told RNS.   The victim was located on Central Avenue at the intersection of Henry Street, which is approximately two blocks away from where the original altercation took place.  The victim a 30 year old male was found with multiple stab wounds and in need of medical attention.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for his injuries. 

The suspect a 20 year old male from Hobart fled from the scene of the crime and was later taken into custody near Route 6 and County Line Road.  Detectives will be presenting the case to the Prosecutors office and charges are expected.  Richardson added, the incident is isolated as the victim and suspect know each other.
