Lansing Male Charged With Child Molesting in Porter County
Raul Rodriguez Ramirez faces four felony charges in Porter County for alleged criminal acts involving a minor under the age of 14, according to an affidavit.
Chesterton Police say they received a notification from the Department of Child Services on April 22, 2025 concerning allegations of a minor dating a man who was approximately 30 years old. The report also alleged the minors mother was prostituting her. The report stated the mother, the mother’s husband, and the minor were homeless camping somewhere in Chesterton.
On April 24th DCS and Officers met with the mother and minor who both denied any of those allegations. The mother also declined to have any contact information for the alleged suspect days later after this meeting when police went to check on the situation again. However on May 8th when Chesterton Police went to investigate further at the Indiana Dunes State Park Campground they encountered two tents. One of the tents had the minor and an adult male sleeping together in the tent.
Raul stated to Officers he and the minor were in a, ‘boyfriend and girlfriend,’ relationship and have been for about a month. Raul admitted to kissing the minor using tongue. Raul stated he and the minor kiss every day before he leaves for work and when he comes home fron work. Raul admitted to sleeping with the minor in the tent while they camped every night for about a month. Raul stated he and minor tell each other they love each other. Raul had a visible hickey on his neck which he stated was from the minor.
Raul gave police consent to search his phone which they found a pornographic video which showed him and the minor having intercourse in the tent.
Raul Rodriguez Ramirez, 28, of Lansing, Illinois was charged with:
1. Count I – Child Molesting (Level 1 Felony):
Allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with a child 14 and under on April 30, 2025.
2. Count II – Child Molesting (Level 1 Felony):
Accused of digitally penetrating the child’s anus on the same date.
3. Count III – Child Molesting (Level 4 Felony):
Alleged fondling or touching of the child with sexual intent between March 1 and May 8, 2025.
4. Count IV – Child Exploitation (Level 5 Felony):
Accused of creating or displaying sexualized images or videos of the child during the same period.
