Lansing Man Charged With 5 Counts Of Attempted Murder

On 08/04/2024 at 12:28 AM, the Lansing Police Department was dispatched to the 17700 block of Burnham Avenue regarding calls of shots fired.

Upon arrival, there were several people located outside and a female adult suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to an extremity, according to Lansing Police. Lansing Fire Department Paramedics treated the victim and transported her to the hospital. Witnesses reported the suspect fled back into a home on the block. Mutual aid was requested through the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) to help secure the area out of an abundance of caution. The South Suburban Emergency Response Team (SSERT) also responded and successfully had the occupants of the home exit where the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. The scene was processed by the Illinois State Police.

During the investigation, it was learned the suspect fired a handgun striking a female and sending several others running to avoid being shot. After interviewing the individuals who were at the scene, it was determined, Christopher D. Hall, age 33, of the 17700 block of Burnham Avenue, was responsible for firing the gun.

The case was reviewed by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and Hall was charged with five counts of Attempted First Degree Murder. He was processed at the Lansing Police Department and was transported for his First Appearance Hearing at the Cook County Courthouse at 26th and California.
