Louisiana Man Charged After Alleged Razor Blade Attack On Bus In Gary
Hasaun T. Clark, 23, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is facing multiple felony charges after authorities allege he attacked a passenger with a razor blade while riding a Greyhound bus that had just arrived at the Gary Metro Center.
According to court documents, the incident occurred March 2, 2026, at approximately 6:59 p.m. as a Greyhound bus traveling from South Bend to Gary pulled into the Gary Metro Center in the 100 block of West 4th Avenue.
Officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing in the parking lot. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a security guard who indicated that the suspect next to him had stabbed another male.
Police detained the suspect, later identified as Clark, and conducted a pat-down for weapons with negative results. Officers were advised that the injured passenger was inside the building.
According to the affidavit, the victim handed an officer a small razor blade with a red substance that appeared to be blood and pointed toward Clark, stating, “He’s the one who did it.”
The victim told police the incident occurred inside the Greyhound bus as it was pulling into the Gary station. The victim reported that Clark had initially been sitting in the seat in front of him before repeatedly moving back and forth toward the rear of the bus.
The victim told officers Clark then “freaked out” and attacked him, striking him multiple times. The victim estimated he was struck six to eight times before realizing he was bleeding while attempting to exit the bus.
While feeling his neck, the victim discovered a small silver razor blade with blood on it that had been stuck near his neck area.
Officers observed the victim had multiple injuries, including cuts behind his right ear, on the back of his neck, and near his spinal area. Medics transported the victim to Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus in Gary for treatment.
According to medical records referenced in the affidavit, the victim sustained a 1-centimeter laceration behind his right ear requiring two staples, a 2-centimeter laceration on the right side of his neck requiring four stitches, and a 1-centimeter laceration to the upper mid-back requiring one stitch. The victim was treated with pain medication and antibiotics.
Investigators also recovered a red box cutter knife inside the bus above the passenger seats where luggage is typically stored. Crime scene investigators collected the knife and the razor blade as evidence.
The Greyhound bus driver told police Clark had been picked up during a transfer and had been continuously moving around the bus during the trip from South Bend to Gary. When the bus pulled into the station, the driver reported hearing a commotion and seeing the victim bleeding.
Another passenger told police Clark sat next to him during the trip, grabbed his waist looking for an unknown object, and attempted to snatch his tablet. Other passengers described Clark’s behavior as erratic and unusual during the ride.
The victim later told investigators Clark grabbed his wrist and arms while yelling “You gotta get off of the bus” multiple times as the bus pulled into the station.
Clark was taken into custody and transported to the Gary Police Department for booking. Investigators also noted Greyhound buses are equipped with cameras and were working to obtain video footage from the incident.
Lodged in the Lake County Jail on March 4,2026.
