Lowell Fire Destroys Barn Friday

At approximately 10:08 AM Friday, the Lowell and Lake Dale Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire in the 17100 of Tapper in unincorporated Lowell, according to The Lowell Fire Department.

Upon arrival units encountered a fully involved barn fire. Due to the cold temps , deep snow and lack of hydrants in the area a 2nd alarm was struck and the fire was extinguished.

Luckily there were no injuries but unfortunately the barn was a total loss, Fire Officials said.

Lowell Officials thanked all of the mutual aid companies that came in to help…Lake Dale , Tri-Creek EMS, Cedar Lake, Crown Point, Beecher, Lake Township, St John, Lake Hills and Hebron Fire for covering our station and residents while they were working the fire.
They also thanked the Town of Lowell , Lake County EMA an Lake County Highway, Lowell Burger King for the food, Dunkin Donuts, Old Dog Coffee for the hot coffee, The Ladies Aux and Karrie Ham for bringing items out.
