Lowell Pumpkin Patch Celebrates Wizard of Oz
For the second year, the beloved classic movie “Wizard of Oz” comes to life Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th at Lowell’s Harvest Tyme Farm Park.
Park owner Josh Sickinger said the two-day event celebrates the beloved classic movie which premiered August 25, 1939. The festival features a four-acre corn maze with a smaller maze for the little ones. Both festival days are filled with family friendly fun including socially distanced character photo opportunities with Spirit of Oz Troupe characters Dorothy, Toto, the Cowardly Lion, Scarecrow, and the Wizard himself! There will be a costume contest, story times and a Wizard of Oz sing-along.
“We chose the Wizard of Oz festival theme because of Northwest Indiana’s love for the movie,” Sickinger said. “We felt it would be a great way to help people reminiscence about the movie and the very popular Wizard of Oz fest that was held for many years in Chesterton.”
Admission to the park, which is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., is $7.95 online or $10.95 at the gate and includes the corn maze, hay ride and petting zoo.
