Magnet Fisherman Pulls Grenade From Little Calumet
Shortly after 6pm Monday a magnet fisherman snagged a Grenade from the Little Calumet River. The man in his late 30’s was snagging metal objects on the Clark Road bridge when he pulled in a grenade and contacted authorities to make sure the device wasn’t live. Gary Police closed off the bridge while the grenade was laid off the roadway till Porter County Bomb Squad technician could secure the device. Witnesses described the grenade has muddy & rusty which looked like it had been there for a quite a while. We have reached out to Gary Police on the outcome of the device and expect further details Tuesday on this incident.
