Male Found In Snow Deceased Coroner Seeks To ID
UPDATE – The male subject that was located on 2/16/2021, has now been identified as 36-year-old, Michael D. Staples, formerly of Gary, Indiana. At this time, there is no indication of foul play, Porter County Sheriff’s Office said. Anyone with knowledge of why Michael was in Porter County may contact Detective Sgt. Hobgood at 219-477-3139.
On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at 6:53 PM The Porter County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the area of 300 W 500 N, Valparaiso, regarding a decedent found in the snow by the property owner. No identification was located on the scene, according to Coroner Officials.
The decedent is a white male, brown hair, approximately 5’7, who appears to be in his 20-30’s. He has a tattoo on his left calf of the word “SMOKEY”.
