Man Arrested at Schererville Park Restroom After Disturbing Incident and Drug Discovery

A Schererville man is facing multiple charges after police say he was found in a public park restroom wearing pink women’s lingerie and later discovered to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

According to the Schererville Police Department, the incident began on May 2, 2025, around 4:09 PM, when a concerned citizen flagged down a Schererville Officer. The man reported seeing a person dressed in pink women’s lingerie behaving suspiciously inside the men’s restroom at Stephen Park, which is located next to a church.

Police located the suspect, later identified as Derek Bork, hiding inside a locked restroom stall. After refusing multiple commands to exit, Bork was eventually detained. Officers noted that he matched the original witness description and was found wearing women’s lingerie under his clothing. It was also noted Bork had an erection during the struggle to get him out of the stall.

Upon his arrest, officers discovered Bork to be in possession of sex-related items, lubricant, and what they described as two dildos. A search of Bork’s nearby vehicle revealed a disturbing assortment of items, including dozens of pairs of women’s underwear, children’s toys, and various suspected narcotics. On the floorboard of the vehicle was numerous used Kleenex with bodily fluids on them.

Bork told officers he had defecated his shorts, and he needed to use his girlfriend’s underwear to change into. Bork also indicated he needed to clean the dildos, so he decided to bring them into the restroom to clean them. Bork continued to change his story numerous times as Officers were on scene.

Field testing of items found in the vehicle indicated the presence of marijuana, fentanyl, THC, and Alprazolam, a Schedule IV controlled substance. Police also recovered drug paraphernalia including a vape pen, glass pipes, and foil with residue.

Bork was transported to the Lake County Jail and is expected to face charges including numerous possession of controlled substance charges, possession of paraphernalia, and resisting law enforcement. The investigation remains ongoing.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
