Man Charged With Child Solicitation After Plan to Meet 13-Year-Old in Newton County

Lake Village- A Newton County man has been charged with a felony after deputies say he arranged to meet what he believed was a 13-year-old girl for sex outside the Lake Village Public Library.

According to a probable cause affidavit, deputies were called on September 25, 2025, about a male planning to meet a juvenile girl for sexual acts at the library. Deputies made contact with the suspect, Jason Lee Cain, 21, of Newton County, who admitted after being read his rights that he had been texting and communicating over Snapchat with what he thought was a 13-year-old.

In the messages, Cain reportedly discussed performing sexual acts and, when questioned by deputies, admitted that his plan was to meet the girl that night and have sexual intercourse.

Cain was placed in handcuffs, transported to the Newton County Jail, and booked on a charge of child solicitation, a Level 4 felony .

Cain remains lodged in the Newton County Jail.
