Man Shot & Killed In Black Oak Saturday Morning
Around 1:49 AM Saturday morning Gary Police & Fire were dispatched to 6201 W. 25th Ave for a male who was shot in a parking lot, according to Gary Police Commander Jack Hamady.
On arrival police found a male laying on the ground next to a vehicle where people were performing CPR. The victim who police say was shot in the chest succumbed to his injury on scene. Lake County Crime Lab investigated the scene and the case is being handled by Lake County Metro Homicide.
The Lake County Coroner was dispatched at 2:10 AM and identified the victim as Andrew Lukacek, 28, of Gary.
Gary Police told RNS a male black using a handgun shot Lukacek and then fled the scene in a white suv. The location where the victim was found is located across the street from Tavern In The Oaks near 25th & Colfax.
