Man Shot Taking Trash Out
On January 5, 2021 approximately 1:28 AM Gary Police officers responded to Methodist Hospital Northlake for a walk-in gunshot victim, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield of The Gary Police.
Upon arrival officers spoke with a 34-year-old male from Gary. The victim stated he was at his residence in the 1300 block of Georgia Street and went outside to take the trash out. While outside he states a subject (no description) appeared out of nowhere and he was shot in the shoulder, Westerfield said. The victim was transported by personal vehicle to the hospital for treatment.
