Man Shot With Shotgun During Possible Robbery In Cedar Lake
On July 27 , 2020 at approximately 1:20 pm Officers were called to a residence in the 14000 block of Wheeler St. in Cedar Lake, Indiana for a gunshot victim, according to Deputy Chief Carl Brittingham of The Cedar Lake Police.
Upon arrival of officers it was determined a male white in his 20’s had been shot in the upper leg with a shotgun, Brittingham stated. The victim was treated and transported to Franciscan Health Crown Point in serious condition.
The suspects are two males who are known to the victim and other occupants of the home. The suspects are not from Cedar Lake. The suspects fled the area in a black vehicle in an unknown direction of travel, police said. It is believed at this time the motive is Robbery.
This case is still under investigation and the suspects have not been located at this time, Brittingham said. One suspect has an outstanding warrant through Cook County, IL according to Police.
This is an isolated incident and there is no immediate danger to other residents, police stated Monday.
