Man That Shot Car In Lake Station Charged With Attempted Murder

On May 23, 2021 Lake Station Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 28th Ave and Howard Street in reference to a possible disturbance, according to police report.  

Upon arrival Officers came into contact with one male and two females who were visibly upset, advising that their vehicle was shot near 1600 Central Ave.  The victims stated that they were driving west towards Gary when a black vehicle pulled alongside them and fired rounds at their vehicle, the report states.

Police located 3 casings in the area of 1607 Central Ave along with the vehicle that was shot parked in front of 1626 East 28th Ave.

The three victims were interviewed and It was determined that the suspect could possibly be one of the victims boyfriends. That male has been identified as Noah Jackson.

A few weeks after the incident, it was determined by Detectives that Jackson was arrested by Hobart Police in the vehicle that was observed by the victims.  A handgun was located underneath the seat of the vehicle which matched the same caliber of the casings located by police.

The handgun along with the casings were taken to the ISP Lab for testing, Lake Station Police Chief James Richardson told RNS.  It was determined that the weapon was used in the shooting that took place in Lake Station on May 23, 2021.  Detectives secured charges of Level 1 Attempted Murder and Level 5 Battery with a deadly weapon against Jackson.
