Merrillville Man Dead In EC Shooting, Suspect In Custody
On Tuesday December 15, 2020 at approximately 6:09 AM East Chicago Police officers were dispatched to 3608 Michigan Court in reference to a male being shot, according to Deputy Chief Jose Rivera.
Upon arrival Officers located an unresponsive male at 3608 Michigan Courtinside Apartments. The male victim was bleeding from the head area and was pronounced deceased on scene by the medics, Rivera told RNS. The victim was identified as Max C. Reed, 31, of Merrillville, Indiana.
A person of interest was taken into custody on scene. Our preliminary investigation shows this to be an isolated incident. This is still an active case so no further information will be released at this time.
