Merrillville Man Killed In Hit & Run On 30, Driver In Custody
On Friday, 4/23/2021 at approximately 8:50 PM the Merrillville Police Department and Merrillville Fire Department responded to U.S. 30 and McKinley Street for an accident which involved a vehicle and a pedestrian, according to Assistant Chief Kosta Nuses of The Merrillville Police.
The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
The Lake County Coroners Office has identified the victim as Jason Allen Hudock, 42, of Merrillville.
The vehicle involved in this crash fled the scene and was later located by Merrillville patrol officers, Nuses said. The driver was stopped in a White Cadillac near Walgreens. Charges are pending currently so no further information could be released.
The Merrillville Police Department was assisted by the Coroner’s Office and the Lake County Sheriff Accident Reconstruction Team.
