Merrillville Police Investigating Fatal Crash
On Monday, April 11, 2022, at 1:21 PM, Merrillville Police officers were dispatched to the area of the 8900 block of Randolph St. in reference to a vehicle crash with at least one serious injury reported, Merrillville Police said Tuesday.
Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and summoned medical aid for the victim, a driver of one of the vehicles involved. The injured driver was pronounced deceased on scene, police said. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time.
The Lake County Accident Reconstruction Team also responded to the scene to assist Merrillville investigators. In total, 3 vehicles were involved in the crash, with no other injuries reported at the scene, police said. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
