Merrillville Police Investigating Shooting
On Saturday, February 15, 2025, at approximately 9:43 AM, Merrillville Police Officers responded to a call reporting shots fired in the 700 block of E Lincoln Highway, according to Chief Kosta Nuses.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the incident appeared to be isolated and related to a domestic situation, Nuses said. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to gather additional details.
Region News believes at this time two people are deceased at the scene one of which is believed to be the shooter.
At this time, there is no indication of any threat to the public, and law enforcement is taking appropriate steps to ensure the safety of the community.
Luke’s Gas Station put out a statement saying, “We are aware of an unfortunate situation that took place this morning at our Merrillville store. We are appreciative of the work and investigation being conducted by local authorities. We will comment further once their process is complete. As a Luke family we will continue to pray and support our team and the communities we serve.”
