Motorcycle Rider Airlifted After Hit & Run
Shortly after 9pm Monday a motorcycle was struck by a vehicle on the 5800 block of Broadway in Merrillville. The rider was seriously injured and airlifted by University of Chicago Medivac. Alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor at this time, police said. The driver of a black Impala that struck the motorcycle fled on foot from the scene but was quickly apprehended by Merrillville Police and is facing charges.
