Munster Man Arrested On Arson Charges
On January 7, 2024, at approximately 8:20 PM, Munster Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to 8445 Manor Avenue in reference to an active fire in the parking garage area.
Upon arrival, Munster Police were informed that two vehicles. were on fire and both vehicles were damaged as a result.
An investigation by the Munster Fire Department and the Munster Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division found that the vehicles were set on fire with the use of gasoline as an accelerant. A review of video surveillance cameras, along with interviews from witnesses found that a subject, identified as Wayne Robert Gralewski Jr., 35 of Munster, was responsible.
Gralewski Jr. was taken into custody on January 9, 2024, by Munster Police and provided detectives with a statement.
On January 11, 2024, the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office charged Gralewski Jr.
with Arson, a level 4 felony, Arson, a level 6 felony and Criminal Mischief, a class A
Misdemeanor. He is currently in custody at the Lake County Jail.
