Munster Police Investigating Bank Robbery
Shortly before 3:30 PM Tuesday, Munster’s Fifth Third Bank was robbed, according to Lt. John Peirick of The Munster Police. The bank is located at 8007 Calumet Ave on the corner of Calumet & Broadmoor in front of Target. This marks the third bank robbery in less then a week for NWI.
The suspect was described as a tall, slender, male black wearing a white hazmat suit similar to a painters cover with a hard hat, and goggles.
The suspect approached a teller presented a note and demanded U.S. currency, Peirick stated. The suspect implied he had a weapon but did not display one. The suspect(s) fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency.
