Murder Suspect Sought By Sheriff
On the evening of March 23, 2019, 13 year-old Lavell Edmond and his Mother, Temia Haywood were murdered in their home on East 3rd Ave. in Gary, IN. “Although one person, Darren “Duke” Taylor of Hammond, IN, has been charged in the murders, the second suspect pictured in the attached photos has not been identified. The Lake County Metro Homicide Unit is asking for the public’s help in identifying this man,” said Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr.

Appears to have chin length braids
The black male pictured in the photos was present at the scene of the murders and was captured on video with Darren “Duke” Taylor. The suspect has a distinct profile and appears to have chin-length braids coming out of the right side of his hoodie as he is exiting the residence.
