NIPSCO Still Has 19,000 Without Power Wednesday
NIPSCO announced Wednesday morning they are now down to 19,700 customers that remain without power – down from 95,000 total that lost power after Monday’s severe storm. Based on current information, they expect nearly all customers to be restored by Friday evening with some extending into Saturday, according to an update. Updated information on restoration times by community will be provided as it becomes available. An additional 300 line workers, secured through mutual aid assistance, will be added to our restoration efforts this morning to help NIPSCO crews who continue to work around-the-clock, according to a NIPSCO spokesperson.
