One Dead After Shooting Saturday Afternoon
On July 29, 2023 at approximately 1:15 PM, the Hammond Police Department received a distress call reporting a possible accident involving multiple males and shots fired, according to Hammond Police. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, located in the 5900 block of Park Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that one individual was deceased as a result of the incident. All parties involved are believed to be known to each other and possibly traveling together, police said.
The Lake County Coroner has identified the victim as Frank Pulling, 25, of Chicago. His death was ruled a homicide.
The Hammond Police Department extends its deepest sympathies to the victim’s family during this difficult time. The officers on-site are currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
