Pedestrian Struck In Highland Thursday
Around 8 PM, Thursday, Highland Police & Fire responded to the 8900 block of Indianapolis Blvd for a vehicle vs pedestrian accident.
On arrival of officers, an adult male was found in the street with Good Samaritans assisting the injured victim. Next to the victim a southbound vehicle was stopped with a smashed windshield and one occupant in the driver seat.
Superior Ambulance transported the male to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
The Lake County Crash Reconstruction Team was summoned to the scene to handle the investigation due to the seriousness of the injuries. The team consists of officers from multiple agencies around Lake County that are on call 24/7 for incidents like this.
Southbound traffic on Indianapolis Blvd was shut down till 10 PM.
