Peteyville Cancels Christmas Display For 2020
With ongoing concerns with the current Covid-19 pandemic, Peteyville has made the safe and decisive decision to NOT have a 2020 Christmas display here in Hammond they announced on their Facebook page Sunday. Pete Basala said, “He truly apologized for the inconvenience, but the health and safety comes first for everyone during this difficult time.” Basala has been hosting the huge multi yard display in the 3000 block of Crane Pl in Hammond for decades.
“We have made this decision due to that fact that the Peteyville display is an up-close and personal experience,” Basala stated. With hundreds of people visiting during the peak season, it is impossible to enact safe social distancing.
Peteyville hopes everyone has a safe and healthy Christmas season this year, even without the traditional visit and hopes to be back in 2021.
