Police Activity – East Chicago Police Conducting Death Investigation
East Chicago Police are currently on scene in the 3800 block of Carey Street for a death investigation as of 3 PM Wednesday.
Around 2:30 PM family of the resident went to check on a family member but they found him on the living room floor unconscious and not breathing, East Chicago Police told RNS.
Medics arrived to assist and discovered a puncture wound in the chest of the male. The male was pronounced deceased by medics on scene.
The Lake County Sheriff Crime Lab and The Lake County Coroner were notified. The victim has been identified as Anthony Neal, 58, of East Chicago. The manner of death has now been classified as a homicide.
