Police Called For Teen Accidentally Shot Wednesday
On Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at approximately 3:09 PM, the Cedar Lake Police Department received an emergency 911 call requesting police and paramedics for a subject accidentally shot with a
handgun, according to Cedar Lake Police Chief William Fisher.
Upon arrival, Officers found a 17-year-old female laying on a bed in one of the
bedrooms with a single gunshot wound to her right lower abdomen with no exit wound.
Once police secured the scene, Cedar Lake Paramedics entered the residence and began treatment of the female. The female was transported to Franciscan Health Crown Point Emergency Room. The status of the female is unknown at this time.
The investigation is ongoing at this time, Cedar Lake Police said.
